This tra­di­tio­nal Swiss com­pa­ny is cele­bra­ting its 50th anni­ver­sa­ry this year. ELYSATOR Engi­nee­ring AG is the mar­ket lea­der in Switz­er­land in the fields of cor­ro­si­on pro­tec­tion and the tre­at­ment of water for tech­ni­cal pur­po­ses. ELYSATOR® deve­lo­ps engi­nee­ring water – simp­le, safe, envi­ron­men­tal­ly respon­si­ble and fit for purpose.

How it all began

The suc­cess sto­ry of ELYSATOR Engi­nee­ring AG began with the inven­ti­on of the ELYSATOR. Some years ear­lier, Hein­rich Ricken­bach reco­g­nis­ed that elec­tro­che­mis­try is more eco­lo­gi­cal and eco­no­mic­al than tra­di­tio­nal water che­mis­try. But initi­al pro­gress was slow. At that time, eco­lo­gy was still a for­eign con­cept, and years of rese­arch and deve­lo­p­ment had to be inves­ted befo­re his visio­na­ry idea could be imple­men­ted. The favoura­ble pro­per­ties of the elec­tro­che­mi­cal pro­cess ulti­m­ate­ly hel­ped the ELYSATOR® cor­ro­si­on pro­tec­tion device to achie­ve a breakth­rough. Ear­ly under­flo­or hea­ting sys­tems strug­g­led with the pro­blem of oxy­gen dif­fu­si­on through pla­s­tic pipes. The elec­tro­che­mi­cal pro­cess tri­um­phed whe­re che­mi­cal inhi­bi­tors fai­led. This was the point whe­re the suc­cess sto­ry of ELYSATOR Engi­nee­ring AG began.

ELYSATOR Engi­nee­ring AG is cha­rac­te­ri­sed by Swiss quality

In 2013, ELYSATOR Engi­nee­ring AG moved from Wol­ler­au to Bil­ten in the can­ton of Gla­rus. The pro­duc­tion and admi­nis­tra­ti­on buil­dings were com­ple­ted in just 8 months. In addi­ti­on to the steel con­s­truc­tion with 1200 m² which hou­ses pro­duc­tion and logi­stics, the­re is an adja­cent 3‑storey admi­nis­tra­ti­on buil­ding in a con­ven­tio­nal solid design with a flo­or space of 1000 m².

Suc­cess through inno­va­ti­on and passion

In 2011, Rolf Frei joi­n­ed the com­pa­ny as sales mana­ger. At the end of 2017, he took over the manage­ment of the com­pa­ny from Manu­el Ricken­bach, and now works with around 25 employees at the company’s main site. ELYSATOR Engi­nee­ring AG is also repre­sen­ted in some 20 count­ries worldwide.

ELYSATOR Engi­nee­ring AG is repre­sen­ted in around 20 count­ries around the world. The pro­ducts

Water fil­ters from ELYSATOR Engi­nee­ring AG are pro­du­ced in Switz­er­land and are used to clean and sta­bi­li­se water cir­cuits for tech­ni­cal pur­po­ses. The­se pri­ma­ri­ly include cir­cuits found in hea­ting and coo­ling sys­tems, as well as in engi­ne cir­cuits on ships and in power sta­ti­ons. Around a third of pro­ducts go to other Euro­pean count­ries. ELYSATOR Engi­nee­ring AG is the mar­ket lea­der in its sec­tor and is well pre­pared for the future with an exten­si­ve port­fo­lio and num­e­rous pro­duct innovations.

 

The right hea­ting water for lower hea­ting costs 

Nor­mal tap water is unsui­ta­ble for water cir­cuits for tech­ni­cal pur­po­ses, espe­ci­al­ly in today’s hea­ting sys­tems. Demi­ne­ra­li­sed water is requi­red for the fil­ling and rep­le­nish­ment of hea­ting sys­tems in accordance with appli­ca­ble stan­dards and gui­de­lines (SWKI, SIA, VDI, Ö‑Norm).

The PUROTAP® pro­ducts fil­ter all mine­rals and salts out of tap water. The for­ma­ti­on of sludge, rust, lime and gases is mini­mi­sed, pre­ven­ting cos­t­ly damage.

 

 

Demi­ne­ra­li­sed water is par­ti­cu­lar­ly important for ener­gy effi­ci­en­cy and the­r­e­fo­re hea­ting cost savings, becau­se sludge, lime and rust in the hea­ting sys­tem redu­ce the hea­ting out­put by up to 40 %!

Die ELYSATOR Engi­nee­ring AG ist markt­füh­rend in der Schweiz in den Berei­chen Kor­ro­si­ons­schutz und Auf­be­rei­tung von Was­ser für tech­ni­sche Anwen­dun­gen. ELYSATOR® ent­wi­ckelt tech­ni­sches Was­ser – ein­fach, sicher und umwelt­scho­nend, so dass es passt.

Wie alles entstand

Die Erfolgs­ge­schich­te von ELYSATOR Engi­nee­ring AG beginnt mit der Erfin­dung des ELY­SA­TORs. Schon Jah­re davor erkann­te Hein­rich Ricken­bach, dass Elek­tro­che­mie öko­lo­gi­scher und öko­no­mi­scher ist als die tra­di­tio­nel­le Was­ser­che­mie. Doch die Anfän­ge gestal­te­ten sich schwie­rig. Öko­lo­gie war damals noch ein Fremd­wort und bis zur Umset­zung der teils visio­nä­ren Idee gin­gen Jah­re an For­schung und Ent­wick­lung ins Land. Die scho­nen­den Eigen­schaf­ten des elek­tro­che­mi­schen Ver­fah­rens ver­hal­fen dem Kor­ro­si­ons­schutz­ge­rät ELYSATOR® schluss­end­lich zum Durch­bruch. Fuss­bo­den­hei­zun­gen der ers­ten Gene­ra­ti­on kämpf­ten mit der Pro­ble­ma­tik der Sau­er­stoff­dif­fu­si­on durch Kunst­stoff­roh­re. Che­mi­sche Inhi­bi­to­ren ver­sag­ten und das elek­tro­che­mi­sche Ver­fah­ren tri­um­phier­te. Dies war der Start­schuss für die Erfolgs­ge­schich­te der ELYSATOR Engi­nee­ring AG.

Im Jahr 2013 zieht ELYSATOR Engi­nee­ring AG von Wol­ler­au ins glar­ne­ri­sche Bil­ten. Das Pro­duk­ti­ons- und das Ver­wal­tungs­ge­bäu­de ent­stan­den in nur 8 Mona­ten Bau­zeit. Zum moder­nen Stahl­bau mit 1‘200 m² für Pro­duk­ti­on und Logis­tik gehört ein angren­zen­des 3‑stöckiges Ver­wal­tungs­ge­bäu­de in kon­ven­tio­nel­ler Mas­siv­bau­wei­se mit einer Nutz­flä­che von 1‘000 m².

Im Jahr 2011 stiess Rolf Frei als Ver­kaufs­lei­ter zur Fir­ma. Ende 2017 über­gab Manu­el Ricken­bach die Geschäfts­füh­rung an Rolf Frei, der heu­te auf rund 25 Mit­ar­bei­ten­de im Haupt­sitz zäh­len darf. ELYSATOR Engi­nee­ring AG ist dar­über hin­aus welt­weit in rund 20 Län­dern vertreten.

Die Was­ser­fil­ter von ELYSATOR Engi­nee­ring AG stam­men aus Schwei­zer Pro­duk­ti­on und wer­den für die Rei­ni­gung und Sta­bi­li­sie­rung von tech­ni­schen Was­ser­kreis­läu­fen ein­ge­setzt. Dies sind vor allem Hei­zungs- und Kühl­an­la­gen, aber auch Moto­ren­kreis­läu­fe auf Schif­fen und in Kraft­wer­ken. Etwa ein Drit­tel der Pro­duk­te geht ins euro­päi­sche Aus­land. Rich­ti­ges Hei­zungs­was­ser für weni­ger Heizkosten 

Nor­ma­les Lei­tungs­was­ser ist für tech­ni­sche Was­ser­kreis­läu­fe vor allem in moder­nen Hei­zungs­an­la­gen unge­eig­net. Für die Befül­lung und Nach­spei­sung von Hei­zungs­an­la­gen wird gemäss gel­ten­den Nor­men und Richt­li­ni­en (SWKI, SIA, VDI, Ö‑Norm) demi­ne­ra­li­sier­tes Was­ser verlangt.

Die PUROTAP® Pro­duk­te fil­tern sämt­li­che Mine­ra­li­en und Sal­ze aus dem Lei­tungs­was­ser. Die Bil­dung von Schlamm, Rost, Kalk und Gasen wird mini­miert und damit teu­re Schä­den verhindert.

 

Vor allem für die Ener­gie­ef­fi­zi­enz und damit für die Heiz­kos­ten­ein­spa­rung ist demi­ne­ra­li­sier­tes Was­ser wich­tig, denn Schlamm, Kalk und Rost im Hei­zungs­sys­tem min­dern die Heiz­leis­tung um bis zu 40%!
