Safe heating water to standard

PUROTAP® total hardness measuring drops

for approx. 100 measurements

Simple and direct determination of water hardness by titration (addition of drops) in °fH or °dH available (depending on kit).

PUROTAP® total hardness measuring drops °fh

1. Rinse the titration vessel with the sample water to be analysed and fill to the 5 ml mark.
2. Add the reagent solution drop by drop while carefully swirling until the colour changes from red to green. The colour change is relatively slow. The number of drops required corresponds to the total hardness in French degrees of hardness. (1 drop corresponds to 2° fH).
3. for water samples with low hardness, fill the titration vessel to the 10 ml mark. (1 drop corresponds to 1° fH)

Note: If the water hardness is less than 1° fH, the sample will turn green after only one drop of reagent has been added. Rinse the titration vessel with clean water after use.

PUROTAP® total hardness measuring drops °dh

    1. Rinse the titration vessel with the sample water to be analysed and fill to the 5 ml mark.
    2. Add the reagent solution drop by drop while carefully swirling until the colour changes from red to green. The colour change is relatively slow. The number of drops required corresponds to the total hardness in German degrees of hardness. (1 drop corresponds to 1° dH).
    3. for water samples with low hardness, fill the titration vessel to the 10 ml mark.
(1 drop corresponds to 0.5° dH)

Note: If the water hardness is less than 1° fH, the sample will turn green after only one drop of reagent has been added. Rinse the titration vessel with clean water after use.
